About

Foxi Moxi is an indie rock trio from Austin, Texas. Their sound is upbeat and guitar-driven, prioritizing melody and simplicity.

The current lineup formed when brothers Preston Ashby (lead vocals, guitar) and Forrest Ashby (drums, backing vocals) connected with Ben Aiken (bass) through an internet ad. The guys played together for the first time in a rehearsal space in south Austin, and everyone knew pretty quickly that they had found some musical chemistry.

Foxi Moxi experimented with their sound as they released several demos and performed around Texas in the late 2010s and early 2020s. Starting as a bluesy duo, they added bass, toyed with different instrumentation and genres, flirted with synthesizers, and even collaborated on a hip-hop project (which evolved into the band Big Skinny, co-founded by Preston Ashby.)

With recent singles “Vandal” in 2023 and “Karma” in 2024, Foxi Moxi goes back to basics and sheds some of the clutter they had collected over the years. Their deceptively simple songs are built on energetic grooves, weathered lyrics, and hopeful melodies. Their music is refreshingly relatable but will still surprise you.
